Same person as twitter, reddit, et al. Deacon, Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi. Musician/singer/composer. "Too Catholic to Function." Chinese/Japanese/Hawaiian. Lefty politics, traddy liturgies, so feminist it hurts. She/her.
My indigenous opinion is that butchering indigenous place names and then telling them you have no intention of fixing your colonial shit is the same bs we’ve been dealing with the whole time.

Me, I have kidney disease and can’t have NSAIDs

I’m also wondering if this is a weird way to circle back to opiates? If none of the OTC traditional pain killers are good for you, then I guess may as well do morphine? Or something. Idk but it feels like they’re moving in this direction.

Thoughtful and pertinent - my heart aches for the CoE. It’s not easy to make space for all, but space does need to be made for you, too.

Man, “experienced” people seem to be the prime culprits for getting us into this mess. I’m kinda down for seeing what inexperienced can do.

Reddit is usually pretty good, but every so often they all decide to get pissy at the same time for whatever reason.

Nah just the usual pile on/hivemind nonsense

This almost reads like satire, tbh. I think it probably isn’t but it’s wild how much energy is going toward analyzing something so…benign. (Maybe I’m just out of touch?)

You gotta do like a bingo card of heretical takes though

“It’s like how water can be solid, liquid, or gas”

“It’s like how you can be someone’s brother and someone else’s father and someone else’s friend”

“It’s like playing three characters in a show”

I would unironically watch the heck out of this video (also I kinda think it would be a lot more damning than the other one but hope I’m proven wrong)

Like I distinctly remember the messaging being like “no this is regular private health insurance like you always got, but now it’s cheaper hint hint” without actually really explaining *why* it’s cheaper and who’s paying for that.

So much of it stems from trying to brand ACA as “not Medicaid/gov’t handout healthcare” and not “hey it’s government healthcare and that’s good, actually”. (But also why we should have just gone with single payer…)

Meanwhile I was convinced by the “hell yeah, feminist icon Mary able to bring about incarnation of God without a man’s help” back in my early days

And minimize liability for everyone. Doesn’t it make sense not to put anyone on the hook for small claims court if something goes awry?

I guess probably offering the blessing, unless that gets given to the other person getting ordained (or I’ve seen it done by multiple ordinands before).

I generally use traditional but I really like alternating. Now that I’m in a trad-only church I actually miss contemp, which I didn’t think I would.

Always good advice. Feeling that now as I’m recovering from my accident and not as productive as I’d like to be.
