Cold day at the #allotment plot. Put canes away sorted compost, sowed green manure winter rye, and covered over Florence fennel. Apples, potatoes, peppers, chillies, garlic, cima di rapa, parsley and some small courgettes, plus beetroot and carrots, celery and pumpkins. Lawrence Hills book is ace!

Have done this with quicrs, although the jelly kept better and was more popular. Have yet to try with medlars. Have to say that eating them raw from the skins wasn't very impressive. ATM dealing with a ridiculous inflation of apples from the allotment.
