Teachers teach students, not just content. Effective teachers gauge student needs and adapt plans to meet the unique skills, and personalities of the people in the room that year. Students are not empty vessels to fill; some need leaks plugged, or misconceptions cleared to hold new ideas.

I resurrected my playing enough to get through it. Would love if choral composers ran their ideas past a brass player before orchestrating pieces that shift from 5 sharps to 5 flats, and much of it about an octave beyond normal.
