I have not tried the other process. I try to keep things fairly healthy, and the other didn’t seem to hit that mark.

You can take a bit of cold wax (Blick’s sells it in small pots) on a soft cloth and rub it onto the art. It won’t smear if it’s completely dry. Don’t rub too hard, because it will become glossy. Then let it dry. It will resist water and dust. I do this for my watercolor greeting cards. Good luck.
