I'm Kyle, a #musician & #teacher based in the Washington DC area. I try to post what I'm working on (at the #piano) here, and am always trying to find ways to make music accessible and educational. When I'm not at the piano, I'm usually with my poodle, Gatsby.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best acoustical representation of the ocean since Debussy's La Mer. This may also be one of the most memorable concert experiences I've ever had.

My next listen from NPR's list of 2024's top 10 classical albums was Emily D'Angelo's genre-bending album 'Freezing'.

D'Angelo is an opera singer, but here she showcases a folk-like style to her voice. Each piece is a sparse arrangement of the original, featuring synths and electric guitars.

Today's album from NPR's top 10 classical albums of 2024 is Revolución Diamantina by composer Gabriela Ortiz.

The album consists of lively, large-scale orchestral works: 1 concerto, a tone poem, and ballet music. Very Copland-esque. A celebration of Mexican and modernist #music styles.

Today I listened to this album, which is on the @npr.org list of top 10 classical albums of 2024. The vibe of this #music perfectly describes me today. This is the first of the NPR list that I'll re-listen. Zen, ambient, brooding colors -- all words I'd use for it.

Going thru the list of @npr.org top classical albums of the year. Today: "In C" performed by Maya Beiser. In C is a piece for open instrumentation & is often labeled as one of the first additive-minimalist compositions. Beiser performs a solo version with pedal-looped cello & vocals. #music #npr
