I am a mental health professional. Americans do not have more mental illness capable of leading to violence than people in other modern civilized countries and societies. What they DO have, is far easier and unfettered access to guns - of all shapes, sizes, and capacities.

After age 45 instead of having friends and family give you gifts for holidays, the tradition should be that they help you get rid of one unwieldy item you no longer use, like a treadmill or furniture designed for obsolete electronics.
