Schistosomiasis affects over 250 million people but still flies under the radar.

Last year, Wellcome held a workshop on research priorities in the schistosomiasis space 🐌

Discussions showed that substantial progress is being made towards global schistosomiasis goals, but also highlighted unprecedented challenges including climate change and treatment failure 🌍💊

Leishmaniasis affects between 700,000 and 1 million people each year, mostly in low-income communities. It’s caused by Leishmania parasites and spread by sandflies.
