Thank you, Juan. BTW, I upped his tip to cover the cost of the mushrooms because he doesn’t need to pay for my groceries. I am fortunate I can afford to buy my groceries. I have never had a non-immigrant shopper do this for me.

When he delivered the groceries, he indicated he didn’t speak English although it was apparent he understood some English. He showed me the mushrooms he had bought for me. I asked how much I owed him and he just shook his head. He wouldn’t let me reimburse him. What a kind gesture.

He texted me that the app wouldn’t allow him to add a new item. Some of the texts were in Spanish and some were in English. I wondered if he was using a translator app. The shopper offered to buy the mushrooms and then I could pay him back. I didn’t respond. I didn’t notice the text immediately.

Today’s Immigration Experience

I had groceries delivered today. Through the app my shopper texted me that one item was unavailable — Baby Bella mushrooms. I texted back that was okay and then texted back other fresh mushrooms were okay.
