This past week, I’ve had a chance to connect — and reconnect — with new and returning elected leaders to discuss public safety and justice in King County. I’m looking forward to working with these folks in 2026.

For 35 years, the Judges Charles V. Johnson Youth & Law Forum has opened the pipeline for junior high and high school students to consider careers in law. Thousands of students, many of whom are from communities historically underrepresented in the legal field, have attended over the years.

Visiting New Beginnings domestic violence shelter is tradition in our Domestic Violence Unit. Our team recently made the trip once again to visit New Beginnings, the oldest DV organization in Washington State, to see firsthand the critical work happening in community.
