I think the issue you are more concerned with is an option to opt a post out of feeds completely regardless of if the feed picked up your post from your message, alt text, image, link, etc.

This I agree with, but i know it is difficult to add similar to “private” accounts due to the AT protocol.

Alt text is an extension of your normal post message. If you aren’t afraid of your post messages getting picked up by feeds, then you don’t need to be afraid of alt text either. Besides, your post message is going to talk about your image, and this by itself will get picked up.

Even for people who don’t care about accessibility, they should still do this if possible. Feeds can pick up posts through alt text (if the feed creator enables it) while images are so much harder to pick up. Adding alt text will only improve the post’s visibility and reach.

I think I was talking about losing hobbies as we age because we either lost interest or no longer had time to enjoy it

For reference, Iron chef bot is also spammy (less so which is also nice), but the images it gives are more consistently entertaining.

The human-ran accounts I’ve seen is either not spammy and/or the content is more creative/higher quality due to the human input. These accounts have nothing to fear

As an addendum, I want to clarify that anyone in my feed shouldn’t limit their post frequency due to spamming concerns. The mgs image bot was more because it was a bot that pumped out a lot of boring images, which made the feed uninteresting to scroll through.
