It’s so hard to get that radio slot right. Sarah Mac did it, with the right mix of serious and humour, personal warmth and solid journalistic and news cred. Present of mind and equal to anyone she interviewed. Loved by her listeners. I too am baffled by the decision to sack her.

I’m absolutely baffled why the ABC would not renew Sarah Macdonald’s contract - she is one of the best broadcasters they have - a great interviewer and a warm and empathetic presence. It’s very disappointing.
This is an absolutely terrible decision by @abcnewsbot.bsky.social. Sarah was one of few people worth listening to on #ABC radio.
