If you have a problem with people of color, with gay marriage, with trans people, with immigrants, with women of any race, etc., then you're still welcome to feel however you want to feel about those people. You're just not allowed to make their lives harder because of your feelings. You're not allowed to turn their daily lives into a battle ground. No one is forcing you to "accept" a single thing. You're just not allowed to terrorize people.

I was disappointed to see that my congressional representative @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social was 1 of the 10 Dems who voted to censure Rep. Green after he rightfully called out Herr Cheeto during the propaganda speech this week. That's unacceptable. Perhaps it's time for her to retire.
As a (rare) Democrat here in NW Ohio, I was happy to vote for you and pleased when you eked out your win this past November. However, I was deeply, deeply disappointed to see that you were one of only 10 Democrats who recently voted to censure Representative Al Green after he rightfully called out “President” Trump at Tuesday night's supposed State of the Union address. Such a vote to censure is unacceptable. We are not in normal times. The fact that our federal government has now been taken over by authoritarians and ChristoFascist religious-types — neither of which have any respect for the U.S. Constitution or the rule of law — means that the former respectful and polite ways of governing to which you've become accustomed in your four-plus decades in Congress no longer apply. You cannot fight bullies by censuring members of your own party who rightfully called out Trump's lies, even if it goes against the four decades of decorum to which you're accustomed. Fascist bullies don't care for and cannot be defeated through decorum. This is not business as usual for our federal government, and we do not need representatives who act as if it is. If you cannot or will not fight for American democracy, perhaps it's time for you to step down. I know I'll certainly be paying much closer attention to other Democrats who may find it necessary to run against you in the 2026 primary for your seat. I highly encourage you to step up and fight for our Democracy in the manner that this highly frightening moment in U.S. history in which we all find ourselves requires. If you cannot, please announce your intention to step down ASAP so that a more energized, qualified candidate has time to build the necessary support before the 2026 election. Or, you could just meet this current moment with the righteous anger, resolve, and energy it requires. Nothing would then make me prouder to call you my Representative in Congress. Until then, I remain... Deeply disappointed, Kerry Riffle
