Constructive criticism is not a put down of a person or an organization. It means you want to help them improve. It means you care.

If the "other party" doing it elicits a negative reaction from you, then "your party" doing it should as well. It doesn't mean you are giving up on "your party" it means you are watching and you are holding them accountable.

In looking at what happened in the last US election, how much of an influence does social media have in shifting opinions? Is it the questions or where people "trust" getting their answers from that has the biggest influence?

Check out Steve Boots on YouTube "Why we need to understand Western separatism." He is from Saskatchewan and really has an understanding on more effective ways of reaching people. There has been an interesting discussion on Bluesky as well. I'm from NB, love Alberta, please don't separate.

a time. It is a slow process. It takes patience. But it is worth it. Remember, in some ridings in this last election, there were only a few votes difference between one party and another being elected.

A long time ago, I read a book by Stephen Covey where he said "Seek first to understand, Then to be understood. Most people do not listen with the intent to understand, but with the intent to reply." Trying to understand the other person is the beginning of breaking down that wall one brick at

I thought it only needed a majority vote to separate >50%, not something in the >60% range. But it would make sense to have a higher bar than just >50 % on such a serious decision.

What were some differences that struck you?

Sad that it is much cheaper for me on the East Coast to fly to Europe than it is to fly across Canada. It would be nice if Canada had a good passenger rail system from coast to coast.

Not Russia, but the US. According to a podcast I just watched with a professor from the University of Alberta, there seems to be quite a path between MAGA and Alberta.

I wish there were more people like you: fair, thoughtful, engaging, factual, and funny. I really enjoy your work.

So true!

Remember what happened to Rachel Gilmore and her fact check segment on CTV. You may be the same type of target here.

You have become an influencer with your thoughtfulness and facts. Maybe those really far right folks are afraid of you and are overwhelming you with all this negativity to "turn you" or make you give up what you do. Please don't let them win. ❤️

I really like your work. I have learned a lot watching your podcasts. I am sickened by the east vs west negativity that has shown up on your posts here. You certainly don't deserve those terrible comments directed towards you.

I don't take 1/3 of the prairies wanting to separate as any comfort that it won't happen. I really want to do something so that number does not grow. I live on the east coast. I don't feel any resentment or I'll will towards the prairies.

I lived through the era of the Quebec referendum. While not living in Quebec, I had family there. Referendum on separation is so painful for people both inside and outside of the province. I hope we never get there with the West.

I live in New Brunswick.I worked a summer in Saskatchewan (absolutely loved it) on a geodetic survey crew splitting my time in Regina, Swift Current and Radville. East & West have misconceptions about each other that morph into "facts".A big country with big provinces results in big misconceptions.

Interesting you say that. I don't hear much about Saskatchewan. Are there similar issues within the Saskatchewan provincial government?

Do the people in Alberta understand what is happening? What the repercussions of these changes are? How they could affect the integrity of future elections?
