I'm having a hard time with talk shows and political comedy. I can't laugh at that stuff anymore, and that sucks.

Who thought when they watched Andor last year that it was a prescient warning about this administration, but here we are...

Strike! Workers have the power. Labor Unions built the US, and the destruction of Unions in the last 30 years created greater income inequality, which laid the groundwork for the current authoritarian regime. Protests have limited impact - you gotta hit them in their profits.

wow this is exhausting. I mean, sure, Valentino made some pretty dresses, but this is pretty much the patriarchy in one statement.

My dad, who was old school proper. This suit and his seersucker were put away promptly at Labor Day.

sigh...I miss when this was controversial. (which it shouldn't be because it's appropriate for summer in DC). Below, in the comments, is my ever-so-proper professorial father in the 80's wearing his summer suit.

Noah Wylie won instead of Diego Luna? Andor was the best show of the decade. Those award shows are idiots.

Oh, I just finished T. Kingfisher's Helmlock & Silver. 5 stars. So much of what I love in stories: fairytales, magic, smart women, a little bit of romance, and evil vanquished. But it's the writing, not the structure, that kept me reading. Read this book, dammit. #booksky

Watched the new Running Man—flat characters, except for Michael Cena (most authentic character). Really wanted more running - it's in the fracking title. And they wimped out about the potential revolution and populist rising (i wanted a rebellion like Andor).
