I highly agree with this opinion. I enjoy reading several genres, both fiction and nonfiction, and there is definitely a correct moment for every book ... after proper aging... 😁

May reading is complete! I'm satisfied but sad about The Expanse series. I also highly recommend Extinction (#thriller, plenty of gore, FYI) and Eleanore of Avignon (#histfic, 1348).

In SCATTERED, I developed clear cause and effect rules, then I had to set up a spreadsheet to keep it straight. And talk with Mr. B to double check; but a reader may always poke a hole!

In SCATTERED, Elie is from 1906 and William is from 2006. Since Elie has adjusted fairly well to 2006, I think she's practiced enough to try other periods - and she'd do great in the Regency era. Will is a chill guy, so I think he'd adapt anywhere!

When I outlined SCATTERED, I had Elie and William as pretty much falling in love immediately. It was more a romance novel than scifi.
Then I dialed that back and made them friends with the "will they ever get together?" vibe til the end. Think Jim and Pam, seasons 1-2 of The Office! Much better!
