After the fiasco of 17 moving boxes filled with merch from when I worked at Blizzard, I’ve been trying chill the F out. That said, I’m very fond of Clive that I paid full price for.

Had a beach day at work. So relaxing. This was the photo I was taking when my coworker took the photo of me.

Scenes from today in the workshop. Finally back to glue-up phase. Got a branding iron holder for the drill press. Such a great idea.

Progress comes in slow, imperceptible increments. I often wonder if I’m getting any better at woodworking. And then I come back to building something I’ve made many times in the past. And I can tell that this is the best cutting board I’ve made.

I had to embiggen my shooting board to accommodate 18 inch long stock because, for the life of me, I’m still not at a skill level where I can plane freehand and maintain a 90° edge.

A little more sanding and applying of finish, and my album stands are done.

I avoided getting another flat traversing these tracks, only to get rained on my way home.

Didn’t feel like it, but I made some progress today. I made another version of the box joint jig to allow for ¼ inch joints, which allowed me to put together the sides of a box I’m making with possibly the cleanest finger joints I’ve done yet.

A long process. Spent a day making Chestnut Shibukawani (stewed with inner skin). Made Meringues. Made chestnut paste. And came together tonight as a Mont Blanc.

After not being very impressed by the offerings earlier this year (last year?), I revisited the TooGooToGo app. Now places like Eataly and Honey’s Kettle are participating. I picked up this bag of Sidecar Donuts for $7!

When I did the Ride the Coast Century a couple weeks ago, I was wearing this Bungie/Destiny jersey. A @dadsofdestiny.bsky.social gent gave me compliments. I told him they were the OG! Should’ve at least asked for a gamer tag. 😅
