Yes, Tucker lost his balance but he went to go hit the puck and instead directly whacked the shin of the Jets player. Tucker is still responsible for his stick and he swung it with intention. That’s a clear cut penalty. Idk what you’re looking at here 😂

Yeaahhh you can argue that they missed 2 penalties against the Blues, but that second power play was just Tucker whacking at a dude’s legs lmao. Pretty clear cut

But that’s still the point. They have to leave. It might be later but they are not over here at any point of their primes. Pulisic won’t come back to the US until he is 34 to play with the Union

Yeah I guess I would also hate to see no cap. We would just see LA or New York create another set of Yankees and Dodgers. Maybe increasing DPs to 4 or 5 and picking up raw numbers could be a start. Something to get the league to a competitive level to where stars want to be here

I mean the closed model makes sense for a majority of sports, 1000%. But the open model is a cool part of Soccer and gives opportunities to clubs like Ipswich to get promoted twice and get a wild influx of money to help make their team more competitive and inspire more fans.

Outside of traditions and history, US markets would be able to outcompete with cities/clubs like Manchester, Dortmund, Liverpool, Etc.
Side note: I’m not suggesting a 20 tier pro/rel system like England. More of a 3 tier system with MLS, eventually MLS 2, and USL. It would be cool to see

Also not hard to grow faster than other leagues when they’ve been around significantly longer. Honestly the big change I’d want to see MLS make is to get rid of the salary cap and roster construction rules (keep a homegrown/US talent minimum on rosters) and bring in more star power.

I totally agree it’s moving in the right direction but also wild to not try to match what the top 5 leagues are doing. I also don’t think this should be a decision that’s implemented in a couple years but they could always come up with a 5-10 year framework to make it a viable transition

Now Pro/Rel might not be a genuine solution to that, but if we lift up smaller markets by that system and we can create more pathways to pro soccer in the states, then there could be more opportunities to develop talent. Also, there’s no real punishment for teams that don’t spend money or try to win

Because they don’t attract star players in their prime. The league shoots itself in the foot with the salary cap. In terms of talent development, we are also severely behind way too many countries. For a country that is dominant in most sports, there’s no reason we aren’t better at soccer.
