Crime City is far from the best game I played this year, but I'm not sure how to describe it in detail, it's managed to stick with me and I think about it all the time now. I don't know, I just kind of fuck with this game. Call it Taito Charm, I guess. Let's go for a kill time.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU NAME YOURSELF THAT?!

Fetus of Go-I mean, Homer.

It was also my first time noticing Maria's face from SH2 on the cover of this magazine (in the corner) in Brookhaven with the article on the Hope/Wish House. I know I've seen textures with Angela on them, but it was my first time noticing this Maria one.

I never noticed these cute little animal pictures on the door inside the Happy Birthday room in Otherworld Brookhaven before today.

This angle seems familiar.

Today’s gets.

Local game store was doing a random free game giveaway today. I got a loose copy of NFS ProStreet on PS2, but I don’t like taking things for free and leaving, so I got a PS2 copy of 18 Wheeler while I was there. I wish it was the DC version, but it’s what they had.

I can't say that I feel the same for the Enhanced Edition. I feel like the markings on the body and the heavy use of purple are distracting. The shadows aren't heavy and obscuring enough, everything is clearly visible. The eyes look like arcade machine coin slots to me.

The cover art for the original System Shock is one of my absolute favourites. Ever since I've first seen it, I've always found it deeply disturbing. It's the only cover art that I've ever had nightmares of. Especially for a 1994 CG render, it's perfection.

Today’s gets.

I’m honestly not too sure what my interest in these games says about me as a person.

I don't know if this is considered a hot take or not, but Silent Hill: Origins genuinely has one of my favourite interpretations of the town in the series, maybe even my 2nd favourite next to the original PS1 game. Climax did a great job with the look of the environments overall.

Today isn’t shaping up to be the worst day at work or anything, but I’ll gladly take all the help I can get.

Finished Silent Hill: Origins. This ended up being frustrating for me because it's genuinely so close to being what I want from an outsourced SH game, and the presentation of the environments is spot-on, but the gameplay is a mess. It could be much better with heavy tweaking.

I'm guessing the review embargo on this thing was lifted.

Another one.

A loving tribute to Konami's MSX sports games, a fun trick system using one button and courses with a variety of obstacles to increase the time limit make this a really enjoyable game that even fans of more contemporary extreme sports games such as myself can enjoy.
