Always good to get a result like this.
Thanks Bristol Waste.

November is Islamaphobia awareness month. The exhibition at City Hall was well worth looking at.

At a time of rising division in our country we need to stand against hate and the false narratives put across about the muslim community by some.

The feedback received for the Gender Stories exhibition held this year at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery was overwhelmingly positive. A success for our museums and the culture of the city.

Politics in the morning, politics in the afternoon?

No debate that the ‘lawless’ Downs is a great place to be on a crisp autumn afternoon. I had a nice chat with 2 van dwellers. And came across this newly planted tree and bench in memory of Sam Polledri.

Life’s too short, live it.

Coming soon to Bristol City Council, my campaign ‘Jackie the Dodo says’.

Jackie will highlight one real and significant issue affecting women at every Full Council meeting. And counteract the scaremongering of the GC mob.

She’s also looking for a cheap date - happy to split the bill 🤭

When is a Dodo not a dodo?

When it’s a bald headed coot called Stephen.

I’m going to have fun with this one 🤭

The absolute cheek of this man! He was part of the coalition that started 14 years of austerity. It was that austerity that forced the Bristol Labour administration to make tough choices.

There we have it. The Bristol Green Party with their partners the Lib-Dems cannot rule out closures.
November 21, 2025 at 11:18 AM
Today the Green led administration have the opportunity to rule out the closure of libraries in Bristol, including my own ward of Southmead. A Labour amendment has been added to the recommendation.

I’m watching.

Fly tipping is a scourge on our communities. I reported these two in Southmead yesterday:-

Think I prefer chaos with Ed Miliband 🤣

Talking of symbolism though, here’s another example of Green Party hypocrisy.

Trans awareness week - what’s it about?

Let me explain.
November 17, 2025 at 6:06 PM
One of my constituents contacted me about the extortionate increase in hire fees for using council venues, specifically an 813% increase (£384 to £3120) for Bristol Choral Society (BCS) to use City Hall for practice.

I’ve written to the Leader Cllr Tony Dyer about this.

At a recent Members Forum I asked Cllr Parsons why there couldn’t be a significant meanwhile site on the land being developed in Hengrove?

So many people doing great things for #ChildrenInNeed

Humbling to see the ‘Meet the Challenge Squad’. I particularly enjoyed Kat’s performance, who has overcome so much in their life. (And yes, I used ‘their’, it’s not difficult).

The suggestion on Radio Bristol by Cllr Ed Plowden that Kerry McCarthy hasn’t been engaging with Bristol Council has resulted in an apology being made. Yes, live radio puts you on the spot.

The recent EBLN survey isn’t fit for purpose.

The Greens aren’t listening. Residents say this. So do I.

🌹Labour:-

✅ 1st ever UK trans woman politician
✅ 1st openly elected trans woman councillor in Bristol 😏
✅ Biggest ever gathering of MP allies at a trans solidarity rally

Today marks the start of trans awareness week, so here’s an image showing two trans women.

The B&W picture show Roberta Cowell, who flew spitfires during WW2. She was also the first known British trans woman to undergo gender-affirming surgery

After writing to the Leader Cllr Tony Dyer with concerns that Bristol Women’s Voice would have to pay to use City Hall for IWD 2026, I’m glad this Green led council have now reverted to apply the same terms as previous years.

Here’s to next year’s International Women’s Day, theme ‘Give to Gain’

If the BBC are biased towards trans people why would I have organised a protest outside its Bristol location?
November 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM
The East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood survey wasn’t fit for purpose.⛔️

Southville residents are very concerned about proposed changes to their neighbourhood. ⚠️

The Bristol Green Party have allocated just 1/8th of CAZ money to improved buses! 🚌

Bristol Labour are holding the Greens to account.
