Your Family Stories 🇬🇧 Liverpool lass who has lived in Perth, WA 🇦🇺 for nearly 60 years - £10 Poms - I love uncovering the secrets, skeletons and stories from my (and my husband’s) family tree. Researching 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇮🇪🇮🇲🇦🇺 https://yourfamilystories.blog/
I feel an affinity with my great grandfather Robert William Barnes (1887-1946). Born in #Oswaldtwistle, #Lancashire, he was the manager and then proprietor of the billiard hall in #Runcorn, #Cheshire. His obituary says he “had the capacity of making friends” just like me 😉

Liverpool waterfront. I’m not sure what year this was taken - 30s/40s/50s?

The original is in an album belonging to the parents of an 87 year old cousin I visited earlier this year. #liverpool #familyhistory #oldphoto

Postcard of the BOAC 707 my family and I travelled to Perth, Australia on in 1966 (well not necessarily the exact plane). It takes pride of place in my #postcard collection. #familyhistory #boeing #plane

A very interesting conversation. Thanks Kathy! My ears pricked up when you mentioned “baby farm” as there was a book (2020) written about my husband’s 2x GGM. This was in Perth, Western Australia in the early 1900s. She was found guilty of manslaughter #familyhistory

Last week I found the newspaper wedding announcement of my 4 x great grandparents, John Lucas and Elizabeth Tinker who married in Liverpool on the 5th September 1830.

Are there any #oldcar experts out there? I asked AI what this car is and it says British Ford 10 circa 1937/38. Looking online at those models, the grill looks a little different. The girls in the pic were born in 1935 and 1938 so I’m thinking it was taken about 1939/50. #familyhistory #fordcar

On this day (5th Dec) in 1866, my 2 x great grandparents George Rutter (1840-1905) and Jane Hampson (1845-1902) married in St Clement Church, Toxteth #liverpool although both were born in #cheshire. George was a police constable & Jane’s father was a mariner. #familyhistory

This is likely the oldest original family photo we have. It is my 3 x GGM Frances Hanlon (1838-1892 #Liverpool) who married Robert Hornby. Her father Michael Hanlon was a spectacle maker/optician born in #Ireland 🇮🇪 c1804. She was one of 9 children. #ancestry #familyhistory #oldphotos
