A very Colorado morning watching vehicles choose to avoid this big tumbleweed near 287. My childhood Adirondack Autumn was heralded by the red of sugar maples. Out here in my neighborhood I mark it by the arrival of these strolling around. @kylec.bsky.social

#caterday Obligatory tuxedo cat photo update. Yes, she often naps covering her eyes.

Okay, I can't physically go to my cats at the moment, so today's obligatory #caturday photo is of one of the shelter cats. She's as soft as a chinchilla but quite shy. She loves gentle pats though and purrs every single time I've pet her during her weeks at the shelter.

Her question about moss community is one I ask all the time about our human communities.

Killdeer that construction workers scared away. ( After my doctor's appointment it was letting me really get a good look.)

Joy is an act of self care, resistance AND resilience. We contain multitudes and I'm not letting the dictators or the bad way healthcare is or my body steal Joy. I can have two emotions at once. Joy doesn't erase the problems either. Both exist. But Joy allows me to take a deep breath and persist.

Okay, in a world where adult humans largely suck because a fire now is seen as more important than shade for those who will later be... I present my favorite shelter kitty, Liz

I can't find the account and sleeping cat photo that inspired me to draw this today. Please tag them in the comments if you saw the photo I was inspired by. Thanks, kaywray

My favorite is a long term resident, Liz, who loves to play and have company come to visit but has a hard time accepting the affection she asks for. She is afraid of dogs and would like to go to the vet as little as possible.

I volunteer at an animal shelter, working with more spicy and more scared cats.

This young cat is Josh and he's up for adoption and going to make someone really happy like he is in this picture.

Original sketch by me. "Equal Rights for others does not mean fewer for you. It's not pie." Once my hand decides to not behave like I broke the outer metacarpals I'm going to do another one with an edit. We'll see.
