They are such elegant vessels, I love them. The many bits I get usually not so much 🤣

Absolutely, a thing of beauty right there

Ouch, having read your full review now, thats not a good look for Oxbow or the BM or whoever decided to quote you like that.

It is hard work, and it's a cracking programme you've put together. Its just frustrating that this issue comes up every year with TAG.

I still don't get the issue/reluctance to offer day rates tho so people who are juggling caring responisibilities or dependant on employer for assistance/have to take leave to attend can still participate. I've organised a 3 day res conference on a shoestring & still managed to offer a day rate.

Most conferences have bursaries as an option but why make people ask for money when steps could be put in place to make an event more affordable/accesible in the first place? Many in our sector, not just students, are struggling financially.

A depressing read. I was passionate about improving things but inexpereinced & niaive about the sheer weight of wider sector opposition; IFA had limited power & influence over other arch orgs & individuals that saw no need to change. EO should never have been a volunteer role-still adovcating that

I used to follow your account over on that other place, happy to see you've come here :)

There were calls for this from the membership - but no mechanism by which to enact it. I guess when the org was founded they (niaively) never imagined a situation where they might need it.

It seems there is no mechanism within the statutes enabling the Members to call for a vote, the President can choose to resign, but can't be forced to resign, even if the rest of the Board resign.

There were indeed, and I have so much respect for those individuals. To open the floor to Members and then give no reply, no acknowledgement, no apology, no indication of next steps? So disappointing.
