Article: “Can you be a Christian and not go to church?”

Answers:
1. “Going to church doesn’t bring salvation.”
2. “Christians are called to create community.”

Nice evasion.

How about answering: “Can you create Christian community without a formal hierarchy to control its members?”

Crickets.

You know… Republican Christians do not want real Christians running the country.

The moment real Christians take care of the poor and welcome the down trodden, they’ll have them voted out of office.

All I can ask is: “how the hell did we get here?”

This is a bit scary. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_ra...

System for detecting gas leaks
- 99% accurate
- 1 million systems, 100 have leaks and 999,900 don't
- 99 of the 100 with leaks trigger an alert
- 9,999 of the 999,900 without leaks trigger an alert
- 99.1% of alerts are false positives.

The Streisand effect is out in force. Jimmy Kimmel’s latest YouTube video has racked up 7.6 million views in 9 hours and it’s only 9am on the east coast.

Last week, I didn’t know who this guy was.

It’s a real victory for freedom in what has been a downhill slide into fascism.

A decade ago, I had hope for a better world. Today, I’m just hoping we have a country left four years from now.

A friend died today. I saw it coming, I did my best, but it wasn’t enough. Now I have to go to their funeral.

My brain is scientifically fascinating.

Late in the afternoon depression often nibbles at my brain, sapping my energy.

I’m always surprised by it. The reason is always “16:13”. That’s when my phone started yelling at me to take medication. 😵‍💫

Bipolar is a curious beast. Further study is required.

Here’s a thought I’d never considered: if demon-possession is cured by antipsychotics… is it really demon-possession?

I’m just sitting here dumbfounded at this revelation. I’ve only been truly stable in meds for ~2 years. Not much time to have this thought organically emerged.

I'm really beginning to understand the book of Revelation. I don’t think Trump is the antichrist and I don’t think the end of the world is happening in my lifetime.

But…

Now I know why Christians would put the antichrist on the throne and worship him.

I thought we would know better. We don’t.

First class is extra special today, single row seat on the left side. I have two windows and the aisle.

In my opinion, humanity was doing just fine until some idiot invented agriculture. It’s been all downhill since.

Also, time zones suck.

Today… in 2023… I have purchased… a DVD player… that doesn’t have an HDMI port.

It’s a lot simpler that trying to teach the old people at my church to how to use a computer to play DVDs.

And it should save me from having to be at every event that requires technology. I hope.

Hope is worth $30.

Yay! My Bible study group started back up.

I wasn’t sure it would and everyone there is from the church I left last year ago. I’m no longer a member and can’t sign up for groups with my friends.

I’ve got too many friends to keep track of so this is the only way I get to hang out with them.
