i've been listening to a ton of @corpserevivers.bsky.social + @jeffstormer.gobirds.online 's BATMAN: BUMP IN THE NIGHT podcast lately & wanted to try drawing a cover for one of the issues 🦇🦇🦇

bafflingly rude tbh. especially considering i'd gone in like 5 times before this most recent time and when i asked if they had various comics i was looking for was just told "no i'm not sure why we don't have that or if/when we'll get it in" instead of "we only stock issue #1 of each series"?
a 3-star google maps review reading: A very cute shop with a wide selection of graphic novels and trade paperbacks, but more of a record shop than a comic store — they don't get weekly comic issues, only issue #1 of each series, apparently, which is majorly disappointing (and I had to come in several times to find out that that's why they never had what I was looking for in stock; I'm leaving this review to save other people from wasting time/being disappointed). I was so excited thinking I'd found a place to buy my weekly comics, but there's still no actual comic shops in Bushwick, unfortunately. If you're just looking for records or graphic novels, though, probably still a good place to check out. followed by a reply from the owner, left 2 hours after the review, which reads: It's 2025 and if you can't understand why a small independent comic store in one of the most expensive commercial retail markets doesn't stock copies of every monthly that's your problem. If you bothered to ask anyone who works at the store how we handle single issues, we would have explained to you how almost no one reads comics like that anymore and how 95% of our customers trade read. Kinda like how noone reads Google reviews anymore. If you had bothered to talk to the staff someone would have told you we have pull lists for people who want to read singles and we're happy to special order comics that we don't stock. Anyway its Friday night and you've stolen 5 minutes of my bar time. Get bent.

belated halloween post! i was a jester this year and i sewed my whole costume! 💖🤡🎀 it’s my second ever machine sewing project and i’m very happy with how it turned out!
a mirror selfie of me in a pink and red jester costume. it includes a corset with a diamond-patterned center panel, a ruffled collar made of various layers of tulle and pink fabric and tied together in the front with a bow, a skirt made of various triangles of fabric and some tulle, tights that are red on one side and pink on the other, white bloomers, and shoes with ribbons for laces. another picture of my costume: this time i’m posing outside on halloween night, and am also wearing a poofy long sleeved white shirt under it, because it was cold a close up selfie showing my makeup, with red lipstick and very pink blush and more pink eyeshadow under my usual pink heart shaped glasses.
