I hardly ever get on here but today I had to verify I was an adult. I’ve never had to do that for social media.

The Ghost of Alcantra also got an update today! There's now a scene replay theater, allowing you to revisit scenes you've finished without having to leave a save.

I asked someone a while back if they had some suggestions for sources related to my dissertation, specifically from a CRT or further-Left perspective than I may be familiar with or read of my own accord. Finally got around to reading one of them today and was surprised it is a dialogue.

I finished playing #discoelysium (which I fondly call Disco Asylum) over a month ago and still randomly think of it and miss the atmosphere and characters. I really can’t think of anything else quite like it.

Been listening to”This Land is Your Land” (with the parts traditionally left out) just because I need to hear something by an explicit anti-fascist from a previous time that’s also somewhat patriotic and country-adjacent. Thanks, Woody Guthrie.

To believe otherwise is to put your fingers in your ears and reject the possibility of language. Even if the symbol was produced accidentally, the meaning of a communication is finally determined by the receiver. The common meaning is what matters because it is the one understood by the majority.
My contentious view is that if someone familiar with the meaning of a symbol produces that symbol or one like it for public consumption you are allowed to infer that they intended the meaning commonly attributed to said symbol.

So tired of people excusing the salute because of autism. First, that seems insulting to autistic people. Second, not an excuse. Third, he did it TWICE so it wasn’t just an awkward accident. Fourth, he’s said thinly veiled adjacent things before. Fifth, they never cared about neurodivergence before.

Sharing this to look more into later because I’ve never seen nothing like it and I’m curious.
Think Christmas was safe from creepy Victorian spiritualism?

Nope.

Here's a horoscope puzzle from 1888.

I printed this out and did it so you don't have to. Lets see what my Christmas fortune is in a 🧵

My child is weirdly entertained by PhilosophyTube (talking about Rawls's Veil of Ignorance) and I don't know whether I'm proud or scared. Kiddo is staring at the screen "talking" a lot.

I learned about the lynching of Mary Turner and her baby on TikTok a few days ago (and looked up the story to find out more) and it has haunted me randomly ever since. Especially the part about her baby.

The fact that so many not only took part, but watched, makes me lose faith in humanity.

Polar bears have taken over an ancient abandoned village in eastern Russia.

Incredible photographs by Dmitry Kokh who won the Urban Wildlife category award in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

Someone on Reddit assumed I was a Grey’s Anatomy fan and I’ve never felt so insulted in my life.
