I think it also helps that my main characters are very different from each other, but I also remind myself that I can fix that in my revisions since my characters are never super great in a first draft anyway haha

I am usually so "ordered" that I would never dream of trying it, but it has honestly helped me so much! At first I was worried about mixing up my characters or losing their voices by all the back and forth but I haven't had any problems. They are still very much separated.
