Oh no you're good, just starting with "nah" made me think you somehow disagreed with me and I was trying to figure out how what I said was different
September 14, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Well yeah that's what I'm saying
September 14, 2025 at 6:46 PM
Well that's kinda irreverent to why quest avatars have strong limitations on them....
September 14, 2025 at 6:42 PM
There's a reason so many early quest games had teleport movement only, head and hands, no dynamic lighting, etc. because the headset can barely handle it with only ONE player.

Now imagine those super laggy pc avatars. Using shaders the quest can't even render.
September 14, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Well then you yourself should know why quest supported avatars have to be so low poly and low detail

Have you, looked at any of the early quest games? The new technology (q3) has improved this but, they have to maintain support for early quests which are literally only as powerful as a phone
September 14, 2025 at 6:40 PM
If those restrictions weren't in place, quest users would genuinely not be able to play the game.

Have a problem with it? Then straight up ignore quest support. I havnt cared that my avatar isn't quest supported for years.
September 14, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Why every avatar is "very poor" because people have 300k poly meshes with 16k textures, and 23 different armatures because "the clothes have their own armature"

As for quest support... you do realize the quest is basically just an android phone, right? It's incredibly underpowered compared to pc.
September 14, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Right but.. you *should* know how to do that. VRCF abstracting it all away from you is part of why it becomes so un-optimised. When you make stuff for vrc you are doing a lot of the same work a game developer has to do, and you SHOULD be expected to know those things. Not expecting this of people is
September 14, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Every year I find it harder and harder to believe that other people still buy nintendo products.
September 14, 2025 at 6:28 PM
God I hate vrcfury for normalizing incredibly unperformant ways of doing things all because "but it's easier this way!"
September 14, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Nah that's fine. People make a way bigger deal about it all than is reasonable. Been running Linux for 6 years, and just by the pure magic of running arch I can use the AUR for a lot of stuff, but I can't exactly get away from discord or steam being proprietary or so.

Entirely depends on the turnaround time of the artist. I've had commissions where I have talked to them every two days or so, and commissions where I've gone two weeks without.

I'd say though, two weeks is the longest I've gone without an update unless I was told it was on hold

Meanwhile I'm just dismissive of nIntendo in general for being a horribly abusive company to be a customer of :)

Sadly every other company is not far behind... just gotta play indie games these days.
September 14, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Sure, if it was *real*
September 14, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Yep, same feeling I got with the IT crowd. Show was (and still is) hilarious but man does it make me a tad uncomfortable now.
September 14, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Yeah it looks really fun ^^
September 14, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Cool! Have you tried making it tileable? Like having some go off the left side and continue on the right side? Then you could use it as a wallpaper!
September 14, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Thanks for the link! Got super busy suddenly but I'll take a look when I can :)
September 14, 2025 at 3:44 PM
Very nice style, gonna have to remember to check out your pricing in an hour or so once I'm home!
September 14, 2025 at 4:05 AM
man just you wait until you see the finished one oh my GOD is it good
September 4, 2025 at 7:57 AM
It's been incredible seeing the progress on this from when I first reached out about it! Better than I could have ever hoped.

If anyone seeing this is thinking of commissioning them- **do it**, I can't recommend it enough.
