It’s crazy to think that 8 years ago this would’ve been me and many others. There wasn’t a rescinding of jobs last time, thankfully, but I started the equivalent to the day after this term’s cutoff date. Thinking of all the hopeful public servants in this situation.
Two of my current & former students were told today that their signed offers, one at a southwest NWS office (for which his experience with fire weather was key to his hiring) and another at the NWS-WDTD, were rescinded. Both posts are key to public safety, which the fêted hiring freeze was to avoid.
