Today is National Flag Day! When it comes to flags, the hoist is the part of the flag closest to the flagpole. On February 15, 1965, the new National Flag of Canada was officially hoisted for the first time on Parliament Hill. As the flag was raised, it symbolized a new chapter in Canada's history. With its bold red and white maple leaf design, the flag quickly became a unifying symbol of national pride. As we celebrate 60 years of this iconic emblem, Canadians continue to hoist their flag high with pride from coast to coast to coast.
