Isaiah Martin is running for Texas 18th (Houston) open seat after Rep Sylvester Turner passed away in March 2025. Abbott refuses to hold the special election. Martin was recently arrested while speaking at a public redistricting meeting.

Yes, I think she’s talking about the ACA Medicaid expansion that increased the poverty threshold. But the lie is they have no plans or desire to “strengthen Medicaid services” for the people under that threshold either.

Tillis will cave, he just said he wants to go back to the way the House wants to screw us, just not the way the Senate wants to screw us. He’s still all in on cutting the Fed Medicaid expansion funding.

LTC Medicaid is really hard too. The bill apparently cuts the 90 day retroactive payment to nursing homes to 30 days, when people are “Medicaid pending” during the application process. Leaving people at risk of owing for the months they’re in a facility waiting to get approved.
