You are right about NC State - I mixed it up with another game. But the point still stands with the other 3 common opponents.

Well, I definitely didn’t see ND v. VT. But neither did anyone else.

Not to mention in all those games ND got out to a huge lead early and pulled its starters early. Miami didn’t.

But I thought their loser coach actually cared about this game!

But if he really didn’t care about losing by 100, then why bother? You can’t have it both ways.

A football coach said he didn’t care if he lost by 100 or more points to a team he has an history of hating. You clearly believed him, but I guarantee you the Pitt players did not actually think their coach had no desire to win the game. I promise you, they weren’t confused about it.

Do you think he was telling his players in private not to bother because the game didn’t count? Or do you think the message given directly to his players was let’s go beat them and make a statement? What coaches say in pressers is not what they say behind closed doors with their team.

Especially since he made it clear this game didn’t matter at all.
