Trans folks in MA deserve to know every avenue by which your efforts could be thwarted because it's their lives on the line. I worry that this amendment as written and passed in the bill provides right wingers with that initial leverage to get what they want.

Does the study have to be done by an appointee of the state legislature? Does the study have to be done within some timeframe before the original amendment's intended language expires, or is it perpetual? Can a study put forward by the federal govt that pushes anti-trans rhetoric count, or not?

I'm glad to hear your words of support of trans folks, but it's still unclear to me and so many people how gating the language of the amendment behind a study and allowing the text of the amendment to become law if a study "unexpectedly" does happen to emerge.

If you're so confident in this process of killing an amendment by accepting it instead, you need to spell out exactly how the amendment will be removed later and how the implications of the amendment will not come to pass. Otherwise nobody with any critical thought will believe you.
