Pretty interesting! You can see a broadly increasing trend in vol over time - renewables probably did something.

Also goes to show just how remarkable 2021 - 2023 was, right as battery investment was exploding.

Things #energysky should watch this decade: how will reduced capacity accreditation balance out with higher loads and thermal retirements?

So far, it looks like load growth & retirements are carrying the most weight, pushing prices up.

Remain eternally angry that AT LEAST six years ago I started pitching multiple editors about a looming insurance crisis in California and was told it wasn't a real story, or if it was it would affect a small number of people, and even if then, it would be a negligible policy issue.
