Maya’s first trip was to February 12th, 2016 – the day she first met Nikhil face-to-face, in her debut movie’s success meet. Her bones tingled with such longing that she decided her first time travel trip would be to that day, when she had breathed Nikhil’s scent for the first time after fangirling and crushing over him on social media.

The old man looked perplexed at the sudden disruption. He was even more startled as Maya’s outfit seemed odd for the period she was in. He looked around and observed that they were the only people on the road. He then looked at her once over in confusion before replying, ‘Sure, child. Just walk ahead in this direction and take the first right. Keep walking for two minutes, and you’ll see the temple to your right. But the temple will be closed at this time. Why do you want to go there now, ma?’ A tinge of concern crossed his face, despite his initial surprise at seeing her.

With the help of the liquefied Lapis Lazuli, she was able to build what she termed the final prototype. She had built a portable time machine that looked compact, but would spring into its full form once the power button was pressed. This was where she got stuck again, as the device simply refused to cooperate. Though she used copious amounts of Lapis Lazuli to supply the necessary energy boost, she just couldn’t make the device spring to its final form.

The strangest research I have done for 'Bid Time a Goodbye' is researching missing or vanished planes. I stumbled upon an article on strangerdimensions.com, which led me to the newspaper article about a plane that vanished for 10 minutes and reappeared at the same spot.

Abruptly, as if she had finally been doused with a dose of ice water, Maya felt her senses align and see Anuj for what he was. It was not just that moment of clarity. An ultramarine-blue streak – similar to a gaseous trail – emanated from the popular research lab that was situated near Palavakkam Beach. There was a ventilation hole on top of the dome-shaped lab, from which the streak seemed to have originated. It looked as if a one colour rainbow had formed in the sky. As everyone gazed at it, a few surfers joined them and began clicking pictures of the ultramarine-blue streak on their phones. No one dared to investigate what it was, as they all knew that the lab belonged to one of the fiercest minds in India.
