Populists deal in oversimplification and thrive on trashing those who attempt to speak the (messy and complicated) truth. What is the answer? Can nuance ever win?

Like everything political, it goes and comes around... and I think knowing history is important too. It helps me understand that there's very little in this world that is absolute or simple.

Ukraine is a free country with a democratic leader and a just cause against those who invaded their territory; they deserve to prevail. The slogan "Slava Ukraini" dates from a different period of their history when fascist factions in Ukraine fought with the Axis powers against Soviet Russians.
