We had to say goodbye to Wally this morning after a sudden, traumatic incident.

He wasn’t an easy cat. He carried fear and fire in equal measure, but he was mine. He was ours.

I keep wanting to tell him I love him, to reassure him it’s going to be okay, even though he’s gone. My heart’s wrecked.

Itty bitty steps. Finally picked up a walking pad. Decided to test it out tonight after getting it all set up. It’s gonna take a bit to get used to walking on this thing versus walking on the ground/floors! My goal by the early new year is a comfortable 20K steps/day.

And sometimes, you come out of it with these friendships that last a lifetime.

One of those friends is home in Canada for some of the summer with their family from Belgium, and they were kind enough to bring me a bottle of #Andalouse sauce. 😍

Noreen Young made growing up in Almonte a magical place for so many kids - long before Puppets Up! was born. We had a special connection to some of our favourite tv shows, and then got to see our community come to life with puppets of residents and business owners alike. She will be missed.

Went & voted yesterday around supper time. There was next to no wait for our poll. The one to the left was even shorter, the one to the right was growing while we were there, but it wasn’t busy over all. The ballot box was pretty stuffed, & the election workers said it had been busy all day. #Elxn45

Reilly, on the other hand, was happy to get outside and do her business and enjoy a fresh bowl of kibble and some fresh water this morning. Her only complaints are not enough snuggles and oh yes, it’s too fucking cold outside!

It’s too fucking cold out. In protest, Cocoa decided she’d pee in the kitchen and poop in the side entrance (at least outside, though). And then go on a hunger strike (my sister reassures me that this is normal, but it has been a while since she’s protested eating). Too bad it won’t make it warmer.
