Congratulations to you and family. Still remember her dry sense of humour in her stand up routine!

Correct. And also these are all used by AI machines to spread wrong information.

But is real life no one would ever write fluffy rationale instead of fuzzy logic. But search it in Google scholar and see how many you find!! It’s big business and very depressing.

Most of these paper never get read by anyone. They are products of paper mills often selling authorships. There are many models! Publishers like IEEE have been stung badly as they publish 1000s of conf proceedings and any peer review is cursory. @lonnibesancon.bsky.social knows more.

Most of these are fingerprints of so called tortured phrases, deliberately modified by software to hide plagiarism. So nodules have been replaced by knobs.

Blocking you and I expect @elisabethbik.bsky.social will do the same if not done already.

Which aspect of go away is unclear?
January 27, 2025 at 6:18 PM
OK, now go away, keyboard warrior. And it's Dr Bik to you Ms Lastname. She has more courage than you ever will.
January 27, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Given the provocative stance you are taking I am happy to continue the conversation when you have disclosed your last name.

Speaking for myself and immediate colleagues we primarily aim to confirm or deny inappropriate use of images. Others more qualified look behind the science. Eg I don’t even know what microfluidics are! But alarmed at the level of unethical publishing eg in cancer research.
January 27, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Ther is no mon and no lynching. But there are 1000s of unethical researchers who are clearly cheating. To be fair it a result of the publish or perish mentality. So it is the system that encourages them to cheat. I encourage you to post directly on pubpeer and support your peers.

So you think people who have photoshopped images in papers should continue their careers?
