Some people say trouble in pairs, rhystic study, cyclonic rift, demonic tutor, craterhoof, etc aren’t casual. Individual cards are not really a problem, it just matters how the game plays out as a whole. Sometimes they’re fine even if they end up winning the game. Something has to.

Speed to win and resilience/ consistency. If I’m often winning before or on turn 5 it’s too hard to play at casual tables.

If I can always win by turn 8 with 6 contingency plans in my hand like recursion and counterspells, it’s also too hard to play at casual tables.

With oak and pokeball I haven’t had much trouble getting to serperior but as you say if you don’t get it in time just getting celebi and putting energy on it is good enough, serperior just helps curb bad flips. Meanwhile lilligant wound up being totally useless after turn 3 so often felt dead draw

Much less noise and bustle but also way less angry or rude people.
