It’s the previous 7 posts that I believe the conference championship games will no longer exist. 8/8

We saw earlier this week that Texas dumped nearly their entire allotment to ticket brokers. At best, Texas is going to get $0.25 per dollar owed. Fans aren’t stupid, they know what they can spend. 7/8

Just by that math alone, 3-4 flights, 6-10 nights in a hotel, inflated ticket prices, car rentals, food, etc etc. You need to have 10s of Thousands of dollars of disposable income just to follow your team to the CFP Championship. 6/8

Finally, there’s a fan fatigue factor. Schools are asking their fans to commit to 6-7 home games per year. Plus travel to a conference championship game, and maybe host a first round game of the CFP, advance to a bowl game, advance to another bowl game, then the CFP ‘ship 5/8

Then the losers of the conference championships have a good chance of being left out of the CFP because of a late season loss. The subjectiveness of selection is exposed to human error/persuasion. 4/8

Then there’s the player aspect. Wouldn’t it be better for the players to not make the conference championship and get into the CFP? One less game to play. One more week to get healthy. A full CFP run can see teams playing 16-17 games in a season. 3/8

Conference Commissioners are crying foul right now because the projected seedings have a 10th ranked Boise State getting a bye into a quarter final bowl game. But this is EXACTLY what they created. They’re crying because they’re laying in the wet bed they made themselves. 2/8

How good are the Rams right now? I certainly don’t want to play them if they make the playoffs.
