I like to read and then discuss what I read.
Chicago bias
Only read your episode 1 thoughts so far, but they were spot on. (and I started reading during the gazebo scene, so made me appreciate Luke Thompson’s charm/acting/moves all the more. I would join the fan club). Also flower budget?? I’m hooked, so fun.

“Residents have said the missiles hit empty fields and vacant militant hide-outs.” - interesting use of $32 million dollars. Appreciated the deep dive into how we got here too, what a saga.

“When I received an advance nine episodes from HBO Max, I heroically resolved to re-create the regular viewing experience and pace them out. That resolve dissolved by the end of episode one” YES. just watched & very jealous I don’t have access to more yet, but excited for appointment TV!

what a wonderful ode to learning. my Grandpa turned me onto ‘In Our Time’, he passed away this year but it still makes me think of him as he similarly could find interest deep diving into any topic!

Incredibly brave woman, thanks for sharing more about her story and eventual freedom. I was most impressed that she doubled down and turned her hearings into an opportunity for continued dissent.

What a piece! Gave me second hand claustrophobia, but made me ponder, laughed, and learned a bit. Thanks for your commitment to the bit(assignment)

I’d join, no one in my family group chat read the service berry 606 article I sent them and I DID want to talk about it

I did something like this as a tween in Chicago (will have to see if it’s the 1857 one mentioned!) and remember the anxiety and excitement of meetings kids from other schools and ballroom dancing. I remember 0 about the table rules, but I’m glad my mom let me do it. Fun article!

I was reading this aloud to my baby (as one does) and the quotes were cracking me up, lovely profile. (Baby giggled too)

Now I want to see the movie just from reading this piece.
I loved his quote “I want people to feel that everyday that my name is on the call sheet is going to be a better day - a little bit easier day, and maybe a more fulfilling day” - taking that energy to my own workplace, what a gift.
