55. white line fever by kc jones 5/10
it was okay. way too long in my opinion and tried way too hard to be spooky. just a middling book all together.

54. nothing but blackened teeth by cassandra khaw 10/10
a short ghost story steeped in japanese lore. really enjoyed this quick read. it was grotesque and had cliches that really worked well. also beautifully written.

a collection of stories steeped in fantasy, sci-fi, and traditional korean storytelling methods. they were all different and i liked some more than others but enjoyed them all over all.

51. annie bot by sierra greer 10/10
what an excellent book! it’s a great read about autonomy and finding oneself all wrapped in a science fiction shell. definitely a fun read. made me hate men even more.

48. the trees grew because i bled there by eric larocca 5/10
very real human feelings going on in this collection of stories but i didn’t enjoy them as much as their others. most of them just fell flat to me in the horror feelings.

47. carnality by lina wolff 3/10
i… just didn’t enjoy this. the writing felt dense and it dragged on without much happening. i expected something bizarre and dark but i didn’t get that at all.

46. the husbands by holly gramazio 10/10
what a wonderfully bizarre book! truly funny and an interesting premise i enjoyed every moment of it. an attic of never ending husbands would be my 13th reason though.

45. the lamb by lucy rose 10/10
a hauntingly dark gothic horror about a young girl living with her cannibal mother in the woods. it’s a heartbreaking story about loss and love and growing up in the best and worst of ways.

42. wake up and open your eyes by clay mcleod chapman 6/10
a very scary read from chapman. there were parts where i had to put the book aside to take a breath. a look into radicalization by a demonic news force that hits very close to home these days.

39. murder between friends by liz lawson 6/10
eh it was okay. it was very juvenile which i guess was the point. i’m not entirely sure but it was about three teenagers. okay read but won’t stick out to me or anything.
