German lit events especially are profoundly unnatural: never did people sit around a campfire listening to two people talk about one of their lives and *the power of storytelling*, while no one else said a word. For 90 bloody minutes!

I haven’t decided yet whether I think it was kitschy. There were some great harsh moments with the little boy’s Nazi mum, but often I felt like I knew what was coming.

I think Charles is running scared of parliament discussing Andrew. Not because they would or even could sanction him, just because it would mean commoners symbolically taking on a royal issue. Hence these face-saving half measures.
