while both cell types in both sexes were robustly activated during active stress responses (escape) to a looming shadow test. These findings highlight how sex, context, and behavioural strategies shape brain activity to support adaptive responses.

In our latest study, we used dual-colour fiber photometry to simultaneously track oxytocin neurons and astrocytes in the PVN of the hypothalamus of freely behaving mice. We found that female mice showed stronger oxytocin neuron activity during social interaction with unfamiliar female mice
