I’ve been making some Christmas decorations this year👀 trying out new glazes and handholding … different to my usual wheel thrown pots !

We also went out dancing to proper house music in Greenpoint, and to roots reggae in Brooklyn. There’s bars for everyone - sports, fancy cocktails, lesbian, grimy basements, those with a view.

Miss you NYC ! ❤️

And Central park stole my heart …

From the running/walking track around the reservoir, to the North Woods, to the kids parties in the Meadow, to the busking in Bethseda Terrace.

At this point I started to look for things that were free and discovered you could get into the Guggenheim museum for $1 between 4.00-5.30pm and also visited some fantastic free museums - the American Folk Art Museum and the Library of the Performing Arts museum, all very close to Central Park

Moma PS1 was awesome. I really enjoyed the free tour of the old school building where we heard about the artists who had been in residence and had literally made their mark on the building - some stories to tell!

Walking or running over a Williamsburg bridge and Brooklyn bridge were highlights.

And we found the best cinnamon pecan buns of our post-run lives at C&B cafe in the East village.

I loved the Tenement museum - telling the stories of working-class residents who moved to NY.

You’re immersed in history and the guides are incredible raconteurs.

We ate a slice of pizza in Little Italy, not far from the museum, and also tried the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten at Elaine’s.

There’s nothing closer to the “being in a movie” New York experience than wondering through Greenwich village.

Try the Cocktail bars and Comedy spots.

I had a brilliant first trip to #newyork and squeezed a ridiculous amount of things in to 6 nights. Here’s some things I wish I’d known before I went and places I’d visit again (and some handy Google maps with pins)
