i do strongly disagree with profiting from it though, it's one thing to generate stuff and just throw it out to the public, but to knowingly do it and then ask for money in return is just wrong

the technology itself is *incredibly* cool and yet it gets wasted on chuds generating images of trump putting people in crystals or "yes man" chatbots encouraging lonely teenagers to make grave and permanent mistakes

models can be trained ethically, there is absolutely no need to scrape the entire web for training data other than sheer laziness, lack of willingness to put any of those billions invested into good use and nothing short of utter contempt for creatives

THIS is the kind of thing we should be using ai for, not robbing creativity or plagiarising others - simple accessibility features that benefit EVERYONE; the analysis of an image to provide a textual description of its contents, audio transcription, complex language translation with cultural context
