totally agree! Society emphasizes sexual intimacy, when people in long term relationships agree- it’s the emotional intimacy that creates their bond. there’s not really any talk in society about relationships that are full of love and affection without sex! but they’re SO important and healthy

The things that stood out to me and made me realize I was ace: sex sounded really scary, like I would be taken advantage of (which is what it WOULD be, if I wasn’t happy to consent). Always hated kiss scenes in movies lol. Never had crushes on anyone.

I prioritize my dreams differently! I’m not super interested in settling down with a sexual partner or having kids. It allows me to focus on what I want to be as a person and helps me interact with others more freely! that’s been my personal experience!

for me, I didn’t want to say it was just “health” or “trauma” - it felt like my personality too. so I think they both played parts in who I am! I also have two sisters who are VERY allosexual and in comparison I’ve seen the ways that I like being ace! I see people without a sexual lens and ->

in my experience, i just wasn’t interested at all and wasn’t sure why. Then as i got into my mid twenties and had some hormone issues with endo, that changed my sex drive and i started to feel a little interested in the idea of it. I definitely think trauma and health can hugely affect it! but ->
