Might be he was just remembering the his falconers comrades as he saw the bird while simultaneously realizing the teleportation spell that was supposed to happen to save him didn’t go off too. No idea really, but loving the campaign so far

Also the post credit vignettes were so badass, and the showdown at the beginning, and just so many banger lines (“I do not use the null clef, I sign my fucking work”) basically the whole episode was fire. Thanks to all the WBN team for a truly brilliant first book, can’t wait to see what comes next!

I’d definitely recommend his podcast World’s Beyond Number that he dm’s (bonus awesomeness of Aabria, Ericka and Lou as players) as it’s a truly brilliant show and up there with my favorite ttrpg stories of all time
