You may be assuming too much good faith on the part of hiring committees...they often already know who they want to hire even before interviewing candidates and/or they want to leave the job description vague so that they have the option of changing the responsibilities at the last minute

I haven't seen libraries hiring "AI librarians" but rather, "AI engineers" which seems potentially more problematic. Hiring non-librarians for library roles has been a thing for a while unfortunately especially in higher ed
