From the New Yorker — this perfectly mirrors how I’m feeling on this beautiful day in paradise:

Spent yesterday nursing a headache and napping after an intense work week at the Seminar and
workshops. Today, surveys and literary thank you’s!

Wow. I’m putting together a new workshop and digging deep into my files and found this from TWENTY YEARS AGO

Lovely author talk from Safiya Sinclair in Key West. Packed audience, great questions. Her memoir, How to Say Babylon, is a fascinating read, written with heart.

I run a writing scholarship and workshop program at a small nonprofit in Key West. It is so gratifying. The most famous authors are invariably the nicest. The newest are the most demanding. And all the award winners are fab. Picture of hometown parade just for fun.

I'm doing this crazy restoration project in the Catskills. A Japanese Palace built for the 1904 world fair -- almost derelict, now being saved. I am so excited to one day invite writers and artists here to create!
