Still learning how to use Bluesky- here’s a poem I wrote this morning.
Ain’t No Meritocracy You’ve gone searching for a God Instead of yourself You’ve fallen in line When you used to rebel You’ve filled up your coffer With the lies that they offer I hoped you would rise But you fell. Tell me what you care about Whose suffering matters? Whose side are you on When the Mad Mob gathers? If you hold up your torch For their clubs and pitchforks It’s your integrity That shatters. Ain’t no meritocracy We know it never was Enjoy your Kakistocracy You wanted to sow chaos. You can’t put out fires By lifting up liars Or replacing hope With loss. I hope for the best And prepare for the worst I know growth can’t happen All in one burst Just take a look At the world, read a book Don’t be a soldier. Be a nurse. Katrina Miller
